Particularly severely damaged areas near the front wheel arches are additionally protected against stone impacts by a plastic lining. All hidden body cavities have a special hard coating. In addition, some body parts are made of galvanized sheet. Before the cold season and after washing the bottom, it is necessary to check the condition of the protective coating of the bottom. Clean damaged areas and coat with a solid anti-corrosion agent.

At the base of the body in the area of wheel rotation, dust, clay and sand can be deposited. Removing accumulated dirt, which in winter can also contain salt, is very important. If the accumulated dirt is not completely removed, then there is a danger that the contaminated places will not dry out. This can lead to the penetration of rust from the inside out, and after a while it is not possible to completely prevent it by applying an anti-corrosion coating.
