The cooling system is filled year-round with a mixture of water and antifreeze VAG G-011-VBC. In addition to lowering the freezing point of the coolant, G-011-VBC prevents the formation of rust and corrosion, salt deposits and, in addition, increases the boiling point of the coolant. In the cooling system, due to the expansion of the liquid during heating, increased pressure is created, which also leads to an increase in the boiling point of the coolant. The pressure is limited by a valve located in the cover of the expansion tank, which opens at a pressure of 1.2-1.5 bar. The engine cooling system requires an elevated boiling point for the coolant to function properly. At low evaporating temperatures, vapor lock may form, resulting in reduced fluid circulation and poor engine cooling. Therefore, the cooling system must be filled with a mixture of water and additives all year round.
As a water additive, only G-011-V8C or a concentrate marked «according to TLVW 774 V».
The ratio of the components of the coolant in percent:
The freezing temperature of the coolant in our latitudes should be no higher than -25°C.
