Check if there is fuel in the tank.
Disconnect the fuel hose between the fuel pump and the carburetor at the carburetor side and direct it to a suitable container. Switch on the starter for a short time, while the fuel should come out of the hose in a pulsating jet.
Caution: Fire hazard, no open flames!
If fuel is supplied:
- Check if there is fuel in the float chamber by removing the air filter and actuating the accelerator pump. Fuel must come out of the injection tube or injection nozzle.
- If fuel does not come out, then there is a defect or clogging of the accelerator pump / injection pipe.
- If the float chamber is empty, check the float chamber needle valve for blockage.
- Check fuel pump supply pressure. Prescribed value: 0.35-0.40 bar at 4000 rpm. The fuel return line must be disconnected.
- Check if the fuel filter is clogged (possible ice blockage in winter).
If no fuel is supplied:
- Disconnect the fuel line supplying fuel to the pump.
- If fuel leaks from the fuel line, check the pump for leaks, if possible, remove and examine.
- If fuel does not flow out, disconnect the fuel line from the fuel tank and blow through.
- Check the functioning of the fuel tank ventilation, clean the system if necessary. Possible defect, clogging of the fuel tank filler valve.
- Remove the fuel tank and clean it.
