Checking electrical connections

Check the reliability of all electrical connections at the ignition coil and distributor.

Remove corrosion at the joints with a wire brush or needle file, if necessary, spray the joints with spray for electrical contacts.

Contacts must be dry, otherwise clean and spray.

High voltage wires should be bent with a small radius to check for cracks. Replace wires if necessary.

For cleaning electrical connections and sealing covers and connectors, the VW cleaning and sealing kit with part number 000 998351 is most suitable. It contains sealing compound, electrical contact spray, copper brush and O-rings.
