Disconnect ground wire from battery.
Remove the ignition coil cover and disconnect the terminals from the coil.
1st performance (cylindrical ignition coil):
If the button (arrow) protrudes from the coil, replace the ignition coil. Check the ignition coil for microcracks, replace the coil if necessary.
2nd performance (high voltage transformer):
Check the resistance of the primary winding. To do this, connect an ohmmeter to terminals 1 and 15. The prescribed value of the resistance of the primary winding of the transformer is 0.5-0.7 ohm. See table for values for cylindrical ignition coil.
Check the resistance of the secondary winding. To do this, connect an ohmmeter to terminals 15 and 4. The prescribed resistance value of the secondary winding of the transformer is 3-4 kΩ. The values for a cylindrical ignition coil are given in the table.
1) gray sticker on the ignition coil (installed on carbureted engines up to 7/89, as well as in the presence of the Mono-Jetronic system
2) green sticker on ignition coil
Connect the electrical wires to the coil. Insert ignition coil cover.
If the measured resistance values do not match the prescribed values, check the output stage (workshop work).
Connect ground wire to battery.
