TSZ, VEZ, Digifant systems
Attention: To avoid damage to electronic components, the following operations must be carried out only with the ignition off: disconnecting and connecting plugs; connection of measuring devices; switching of measurement ranges of instruments. When connecting test leads to multi-pin plugs, make sure that the sensitive contacts of the plugs are not damaged.
Measurement results are influenced by the internal resistances of the measuring instruments and the ambient temperature. The prescribed measured values are valid for measurements carried out with VAG 1315A and 1526 instruments at an ambient temperature between 0 and 40°C.
Check ignition coil see above.
Remove the trim on the right at the drainage cover.
Disconnect the plug from the TSZ-H switchboard by first pressing out the wire clamp.
Connect a voltmeter to pins 4 and 2 of the plug.
Turn on the ignition. The device should show battery voltage (about 12 V), otherwise find the break using the electrical circuit and eliminate it.
Switch off the ignition.
Reconnect the plug to the TSZ-H switch.
Disconnect the plug of the Hall sensor at the ignition distributor, first pressing the wire clamp.
Remove the cover from the ignition coil. Connect to terminals 1 (-) and 15 (+) voltmeter coils.
Turn on the ignition. The specified voltage value is at least 2 V. After 1-2 seconds, the voltage should drop to 0. Otherwise, replace the TSZ-H switch. Check if the filling compound has come out at the coil, if so, also replace the ignition coil.
Short-circuit the center wire of the Hall sender plug with an auxiliary wire to ground. The voltage should briefly rise to 2 V. Otherwise, find a break in the central wire and replace the wire, otherwise replace the TSZ-H switch.
Switch off the ignition.
Connect a voltmeter to the outer contacts of the plug.
Turn on the ignition. The prescribed voltage value must be at least 5 V.
Check the integrity of the wires and contacts of the Hall sensor. If there are no breaks, replace the switch.
