Checking high voltage wires

Disconnect ground wire from battery.

Remove the spark plug tip. Remove the high voltage wires from the distributor cap and ignition coil.

Caution: Remove by the lugs, not by the wires.

Connect an ohmmeter and measure the resistance.



If the resistance of the wire connection is too high, clean and check again, if necessary, replace the wires.

Check the insulation of the high voltage wires, for which the wires in the area of the tip of the spark plug should be bent with a small radius and make sure that there are no cracks, if necessary, replace all the wires.

Check the ignition distributor.

Connect ground wire to battery.
