Digifant injection system (motors with designations PF, PG)
Increased fuel consumption and poor engine response can be caused by insufficient mixture enrichment at full load. The operation of the forced idle switch is checked when the air mixture enricher is activated at full throttle, since they are connected to the control unit by the same wires. If the forced idle switch is functioning, then the fuel mixture enricher is in order.
Prerequisite for verification
The engine is warmed up to an engine oil temperature of at least +80°C.
Examination
Connect the tachometer according to the instruction manual.
Leave the engine to idle.
Operate the enrichment agent -1- by hand, the switch must click. At the same time, use a screwdriver -2- to open the throttle valve and set the engine speed to approximately 2000 rpm. The speed should fluctuate audibly, the engine «sawing». This indicates that the forced idle switch is working. If the switch does not work, disconnect the temperature sensor plug at the coolant pipe and close the plug contacts with a jumper.
Repeat the test with the plug contacts closed. If the overrun switch is now working, replace the temperature sensor.
If the switch still does not work, then this may be due to the following reasons: the throttle angle sensor is incorrectly adjusted, the wire of the temperature sensor or the throttle angle sensor is broken, the Digifant system control unit is defective.
