In the event of a malfunction of the rear window heating element, first of all, use a test lamp to check the integrity of its circuit up to the positive power output.
Check the reliability of the contact in the negative terminal connector. When connecting a test lamp to both terminals of the connector, it must be lit. Visually check that there are no breaks in the wires.
Clean the repaired area of the heating element from dust and dirt with alcohol or glass cleaner and wipe it with a clean, dry cloth. Stick pieces of adhesive tape on both sides of the damaged area close to it. Shake the bottle with conductive varnish so that no silver particles remain. With a thin brush, apply a sufficient layer of pack to the damaged area of the element. If it is necessary to apply several layers of varnish, dry each subsequent layer and do not apply more than three layers.
If streaks form, they can be removed with the tip of a knife or a safety razor blade after the varnish has completely hardened for several hours.
Remove the adhesive tape not earlier than one hour after applying the pack, removing it in the direction at a right angle to the conductor of the heating element.
Dry the applied varnish at an ambient temperature of 20°C for 3 hours. At a lower temperature, the drying time slightly increases.
Turn on the heating element no earlier than 24 hours after repair.
