Remove the brake mechanism as above. Clamp the brake mechanism in a vise with pads of soft material (pic. 7-12).
Remove the piston dust cap. Remove the piston from the cylinder by supplying compressed air through the fitting for connecting the brake hose. Place a piece of wood between the piston and the caliper to prevent damage to the piston being pushed out by compressed air.
Using a flexible rounded plate, such as a feeler gauge, remove the O-ring from the cylinder groove.
Rinse the parts thoroughly with alcohol and check their condition. If scratches are found on the surface of the piston or cylinder, replace the entire caliper. Check the ease of movement of the guides. clean and lubricate if necessary.
Assemble the brake mechanism. replacing all sealing parts and lubricating the rubbing parts with brake fluid. Install the brake mechanism and bleed the air from the hydraulic brake actuator as described above.
