Warning. When removing the unit, do not twist the pipelines connected to the hydroblock.
To remove, disconnect the wires from the battery terminals. Remove the expansion tank of the engine cooling system and take it to the side. Disconnect the ECU connector by unfastening its latch.
Attach the brake bleed hose to the left front wheel brake bleeder, dip the other end of the hose into a container with clean brake fluid and loosen the bleeder. Press the brake pedal 60 mm of its travel and, holding it in this position, tighten the fitting for bleeding the brake mechanism of the left front wheel.
Remove the protective cover covering the main brake cylinder and hydraulic unit. Disconnect the brake pipelines from the valve body and plug the openings of the pipelines and the valve body with plugs. Remove the T25 socket head bolts securing the hydraulic unit to the bracket. Disconnect the hydraulic pump motor connector from the computer. Loosen the bolts securing the ECU to the hydraulic unit and disconnect it. When removing the computer, make sure that it is not skewed. Cover the ECU magnetic coils with a clean, lint-free cloth.
Note. When installing a new hydraulic unit, remove the plugs that close its threaded holes only immediately before connecting the corresponding pipeline. If the plugs are removed prematurely, the liquid from the valve body may leak out, which may lead to its incomplete filling with liquid and incomplete removal of air.
Before installation, clean the location of the ECU assembly with the valve body. Install the ECU on the solenoid valves of the valve body until the ECU body is seated on the body of the valve body. Screw in the new bolts for fastening the computer to the hydraulic unit and tighten them to a torque of 0.4 kgf·m. Connect the hydraulic pump motor connector to the ECU.
Carry out the remaining installation steps in the reverse order of removal.
Bleed the air from the hydraulic brakes as described above. Enter the code into the electronic control unit.
