Raise the rear of the car and place it on stands. Set the parking brake lever to its lowest position. Press the brake pedal once. Remove the plastic trim from the parking brake lever bracket.
Loosen the locknuts and loosen as far as possible the adjusting nuts of the cable equalizer (pic. 7-19, 7-20). Tighten the parking brake on the four teeth of the sector. Tighten the equalizer adjusting nuts until the rear wheels cannot be turned by hand. Set the parking brake lever to the lowest position and make sure that both rear wheels turn freely. Lower the car.
With rear wheel disc brakes, parking brake adjustment is only necessary when replacing the parking brake cable, calipers, brake pads and discs. Raise the rear of the car and place it on stands. Set the parking brake lever to its lowest position. Remove the plastic trim from the parking brake lever bracket. Loosen the lock nuts and tighten the cable equalizer adjusting nuts so that the parking brake levers move away from the stops on the calipers. In this case, the gap between the levers and stops should not exceed 1.5 mm. Tighten the locknuts on the adjusting nuts and install the plastic trim. Lower the rear of the car.
