GIRLING brand brakes
To replace brake pads (pic. 7-9) Raise the front of the car, put it on stands and remove the wheels. Carry out the following operations on both sides of the vehicle.
Disconnect the brake pad wear sensor connector. Loosen the lower caliper mounting bolt. Turn the caliper up. Remove brake pads. Clean the seating surfaces for the brake pads in the caliper and move the piston as far into the cylinder as possible. removing, if necessary, part of the brake fluid from the reservoir. Check the condition of the brake disc and piston dust cap. Check the presence and correct position of the piston heat shield.
Install new brake pads. Lower the caliper. Install the lower caliper mounting bolt. Connect the brake pad wear sensor connector. Install front wheels. Press the brake pedal several times to set the piston to the working position.
Check and, if necessary, top up the brake fluid level in the reservoir.
Brake mechanisms brand VW II
To replace brake pads (pic. 7-10) raise the front of the car. put on stands and remove the front wheels. Carry out the following operations on both sides of the vehicle. Unscrew guide pins completely. Remove brake caliper. Remove brake pads. Remove retaining springs.
Clean the seats for the brake pads and move the piston as far as possible inside the cylinder, removing some of the brake fluid from the reservoir if necessary Install retaining springs.
Install new brake pads. Install the brake caliper, screw in and tighten the guide pins. Press the brake pedal several times to set the piston to the working position. Check and, if necessary, restore the level of brake fluid in the reservoir Install the front wheels and lower the vehicle.
