Features of the front suspension device

Front suspension independent type «rocking candle» with hydraulic suspension struts, helical coil springs, wishbones and anti-roll bar (pic. 5-1). Suspension springs are marked with pink or orange markings. It is forbidden to install springs with different color marks on the same axle. Double-acting hydraulic telescopic shock absorbers of the VAG brand are built into the suspension struts and are bolted to the steering knuckles. The anti-roll bar is attached by two supports to the front suspension subframe, the ends of the bar are held by the suspension arms. Rod diameter on vehicles with a body «sedan» and engines «EZ», «ABN», «1Y», «AAZ», «RA», «SB» 22mm; on vehicles with a body «sedan» and engines of other models and with a body «station wagon» 24 mm.



The front wheel hub is mounted on a sealed double-row angular contact ball bearing.
