1. Oil pressure warning light
The oil pressure warning lamp comes on when the ignition is switched on and should go out immediately after the engine is started. If the lamp flashes or lights up while driving or the buzzer sounds when the crankshaft speed is more than 2000 rpm, you must immediately stop driving, stop the engine and check the engine oil level, as indicated in the subsection below «Ongoing maintenance». If the control lamp continues to burn at a normal oil level, contact a service station. Continuing to drive the vehicle with the oil pressure warning light on may result in engine damage.
2. Battery indicator lamp
The battery charge indicator lamp comes on when the ignition is switched on and should go out immediately after the engine is started.
If the lamp lights up while the vehicle is moving, immediately stop driving, stop the engine and check the condition and tension of the alternator belt. If the belt breaks, do not continue driving and replace the belt on the spot. On vehicles with power steering and (or) air conditioner. where the cooling water pump is driven separately from the alternator, you can continue driving to the nearest service station, bearing in mind that the battery will be constantly discharging.
3. Control lamp of temperature of a cooling liquid
The coolant temperature warning lamp flashes for a few seconds after the ignition is switched on and goes out after the engine is started.
If the lamp starts flashing while driving, stop driving, stop the engine and check the coolant level as indicated in the subsection below «Ongoing maintenance». If the fluid level is normal, check the fuse in the cooling fan circuit. If there are no obvious faults, contact a service station.
If only the electric fan is faulty, you can continue driving to the nearest service station at a sufficiently high speed or at low engine speeds.
4. Warning lamp for brake fluid level, parking brake activation and abs brake malfunction
Illumination of the control lamp indicates:
- emergency fluid level in the brake reservoir. Stop moving, check the level and, if necessary, restore the fluid level in the tank, as indicated in subsection «Ongoing maintenance». A rapid decrease in the fluid level indicates a violation of the tightness of the brake hydraulic drive, which must be urgently checked;
- the inclusion of the parking brake system;
- malfunction of the anti-lock braking system, if installed. On vehicles with ABS brakes, the control lamp lights up when the ignition is switched on and goes out after the vehicle starts moving. If the light comes on while driving, this indicates a problem with the ABS. this ensures normal braking of the vehicle. To eliminate the malfunction, immediately contact a service station.
5. Control lamp for diesel preheating
6. Coolant temperature gauge
At normal coolant temperature, the pointer should be in the middle of the scale in the 90°C zone. If the arrow is above this zone, do not allow the engine to run at high speeds. In some cases, the needle may move to the top of the scale. The danger of engine overheating only exists when the coolant temperature warning lamp starts flashing.
7. Fuel gauge
The indicator works after the ignition is turned on. When the arrow is on the last division of the scale, the fuel reserve is about 10 liters. Fuel tank capacity 70 l.
8. Control lamp of malfunction of system of injection of fuel
The fuel injection system malfunction indicator lamp comes on when the ignition is switched on and goes out after the engine is started. If the lamp does not go out after starting the engine or lights up while driving, immediately contact a service station.
9. Indicator lamp
10. A control lamp of inclusion of a high beam of headlights
11. Clock with digital display or on-board computer monitor
12. Digital clock setting buttons
13. Speedometer
14. Total odometer
15. Daily odometer
16. Button for zeroing the daily odometer
17. Tachometer or analog clock
Short-term excess of the engine crankshaft speed up to 6500 rpm (7000 rpm for 136 hp engines) allowed only in exceptional cases. The presence of the tachometer needle in the red sector of the scale is unacceptable.
