Connect the control tachometer according to the operating instructions. Connect the gas analyzer to the engine exhaust system.
Start the engine at idle and check the idle speed and carbon monoxide content (SO) in exhaust gases, which should be respectively within 800-900 rpm and 0.3-1.2%.
Note. The crankshaft speed at idle and the CO content are automatically maintained within the specified limits by the computer using the idle speed controller and the oxygen concentration sensor, respectively, and are not subject to adjustment in operation.
If the parameters being checked do not correspond to the specified limits:
- check the tightness of the vacuum system;
- check the serviceability of the idle speed regulator;
- perform system self-diagnostics (see below).
