Turbocharging system — general information

Supercharging is carried out by a turbocharger operating on exhaust gases. On vehicles with engines «RA» and «SB» charge air is cooled in an air-to-air heat exchanger.

On engines «RA» and «SB» used turbocharger brand Garett type ТЗ, on engines «AAZ» KKK brand.

boost pressure:

• engines «RA» and «SB» 0.64-0.83 kgf/cm²;
• engines «AAZ» 0.60-0.83 kgf/cm².

In the engine turbocharging system «RA» and «SB» pressure reducing valve included. Opening pressure 0.85+0.05 kgf/cm².

Warning. When performing work on the turbocharger, strictly comply with the following requirements:

• before removing the parts, thoroughly clean the places of their connections and the surrounding surfaces;
• lay the removed parts on a clean surface and cover them with a film;
• carefully close and muffle the opened internal cavities of the parts, if the repair is not carried out immediately after opening;
• thoroughly clean the parts before assembly;
• open the package of installed spare parts only immediately before installing them;
• do not use parts that have been stored without their original packaging;
• after opening the turbocharger, do not use compressed air to clean the parts and do not move the vehicle.
