Checking clutch operation

Fully depress the clutch pedal at least five times.

Press the clutch release fork lever all the way in the opposite direction to the clutch release. The stroke of the lever should be about 10 mm.

Note. On cars produced from August 1992, a unified clutch pedal suspension bracket is installed (pic. 4-6), the same for mechanical and hydraulic clutch drives, which required a corresponding change in the design of the clutch pedal, servo spring and pedal mount stopper. The redesigned parts are not interchangeable with the old design bracket parts. Only pedal hanger brackets with a guide tube for the mechanical clutch cable are available as replacements, which must be sawn off when installing the pedal hanger bracket on vehicles with hydraulic clutch actuation.
