Replacement of protective covers of internal hinges of shafts of a drive of forward wheels

Remove retaining ring. Using a press, press the inner joint off the shaft. Remove the spring washer under the pivot from the shaft. Remove protective cover.

Put a new protective cover on the shaft. Put the spring washer on the shaft with the concave side towards the hinge. Clean the inner joint and put 120 g of grease into it.

Using a press, press the inner joint onto the shaft, directing its end with a chamfer forward. Install a new retaining ring. Push the protective cover into place and secure it with clamps, observing the size «WITH», shown in Fig. 4-82.
