Checking the gearbox control drive

This adjustment is made on vehicles with a key removal lock for the instrument switch and starter.

Warning. Before starting work with the engine running, set the selector lever to position «R» and apply the parking brake.

Selector lever in position «R», ignition on

With the brake pedal not depressed, the selector lever is locked in position «R» electromagnetic stop and does not move to another position.

When the brake pedal is depressed, the selector lever is unlocked by an electromagnetic stopper and moves to any position.

Selector lever in position «N», ignition on

With the brake pedal not depressed, the selector lever is locked by an electromagnetic stopper in position «N».

When the brake pedal is depressed, the selector lever is locked and moves to any position.

Note

1. When the selector lever is set to the positions «7», «2», «3», «ABOUT» and «R» the starter should not turn on.

2. When the selector lever is in position «N» at a vehicle speed of at least 5 km/h, the electromagnetic lock of the selector lever lock should not turn on and block the selector lever. The selector lever must move into a gear position.

3. When the selector lever is in position «N» at a speed of less than 5 km/h (at almost a complete stop of the car) the selector lever lock solenoid should only engage after approx. 1 s. The selector lever can be moved from position «N», just by pressing the brake pedal.
