According to the formula S= (A+B) -C Calculate the thickness of the final drive gear bearing shim bearings, where:
S is the thickness of the adjusting ring;
A is the thickness of the spring washer, equal to 1.5 mm;
B - the value of sinking of the end face of the drive gear of the final drive relative to the inner ring of the rear bearing;
C - the value of the preload of the bearings of the drive gear of the final drive.
Example. The thickness of the spring washer is 1.5 mm. the measured sinking value of the end face of the drive gear of the final drive is 1.0 mm. the value of the preload of the bearings of the drive gear of the final drive is 0.18 mm.
S= (1,5+1,0) -0.18=2.32 mm
According to the table «Spare parts shims for final drive pinion and final drive pinion shaft»» determine the thickness of the adjusting ring.
Install the needle bearing, lubricating it with automatic gearbox oil. selected adjusting ring, spring washer and tighten the screw plug with a torque of 25 kgf·m.
Measure the turning torque with the final drive pinion installed using a head dynamometer «at 41» (fig 4-77). put on the nut at the end of the main gear drive shaft. The turning resistance moment for new roller bearings should be 1.8-2.2 N.m more than the previously measured turning resistance moment of the final drive gear shaft. When installing run-in bearings, the torque must be equal to that measured during disassembly.
