Replacing the differential output shaft seals

Put the car on a lift. Unscrew the bolts securing the body of the inner hinge of the front wheel drive shaft to the flange of the output shaft of the differential, take the drive shaft to the side and hang it on a technological hook to the body. Use a screwdriver to remove the plug from the flange of the output shaft of the differential. In this case, the plug is destroyed. Remove retaining ring and spring washer. With tool 391 (pic. 4-69) remove the differential output shaft flange, then remove the spring, support washer and locking sleeve. Using a drift, carefully press out the differential output shaft oil seal, being careful not to damage the oil seal seat. Using mandrel 3158 (pic. 4-70), press in the new oil seal until it stops. Apply grease between the seal lips. Install the retainer bush, thrust washer and spring. Tool 3109, which can be made using an M10 bolt 80 mm long. reinstall the differential output shaft flange (pic. 4-71).







Install spring washer, circlip and new plug. Attach the front wheel drive to the differential output shaft flange. Check the oil level in the differential case.
