Remove the inner race of the middle roller bearing using cleats and a press.
Using a press, press the bearing outer races out of the sockets of the clutch housing and gearbox housing. remove the adjusting ring installed under the outer ring of the rear bearing.
Note. The selection of an adjusting ring for adjusting the preload of the input shaft bearings is carried out in case of replacement of the gearbox housing or clutch housing, input shaft, IV gear or input shaft bearings.
Press the outer races of the bearings without the adjusting ring into the sockets of the clutch housing and the gearbox housing. Install the sub-assembled input shaft into the clutch housing and attach the gearbox housing. Screw in the bolts securing the gearbox housing to the clutch housing and tighten them to a torque of 2.5 kgf·m.
Fix the rack with the indicator in the clutch housing and install the indicator leg on the end of the input shaft (pic. 4-23).
Rotate the input shaft a few turns to align the bearings. Pull out or press the input shaft to the stop, in this position set the indicator arrow to zero, move the input shaft to the stop in the opposite direction and note the amount of axial movement of the input shaft along the indicator. Determine the thickness of the shim according to Table 4-4.
Loosen the mounting bolts and disconnect the gearbox housing from the clutch housing, press the outer race of the bearing out of the gearbox housing housing. install an adjusting ring of the required thickness and install the outer rings of the bearings, having previously lubricated them with oil. Rotate the input shaft a few revolutions to self-align the bearings.
