Warning: Brake hoses must not come into contact with oil or fuel. Also, do not cover the brake hoses with varnish or other protective compounds.
Removing
1. Loosen the front wheel mounting bolts. Apply the handbrake, then raise the front of the vehicle and support it on stands. Remove the wheel.
2. To reduce the loss of brake fluid, remove the cap from the reservoir of the brake system, close the neck of the reservoir with polyethylene and screw the cap back on. This is necessary so that the lid hermetically closes the replenishment tank.
3. Unscrew the bolts and remove the brake caliper.
4. Release the brake hose from the guide and bracket.
5. Clean the area around the brake hose connectors and unscrew the brake hose. Close the holes in the caliper and brake line with suitable plugs.
Installation
Warning: When installing, use brake hoses recommended by the manufacturer.
1. Install a new brake hose without twisting it and tighten the brake hose couplings to 15 Nm.
2. Turning the steering wheel from lock to lock, check that the brake hose moves freely and does not come into contact with the elements of the front suspension and bodywork.
3. Install the support.
4. Remove the polyethylene from the filler neck of the replenishment tank and bleed the appropriate brake circuit.
5. Install the wheel and lower the car to the ground. Tighten the mounting bolts in diagonal sequence to 120 Nm.
