The correct location of the lower coil of the spring in the spring seat
An arrangement of the top support of an amortization rack
- 1 - centering fingers,
- 2 - axis of the lower rack mounting,
- 3 - top rack mount,
- 4 - bottom rack mount
Order of execution
1. Remove the suspension strut from the vehicle.
2. Secure the rear suspension strut in a soft jaw vise and, using the special tool, compress the spring so that it moves away from the top. When using a special device for spring compression, make sure that the coils of the spring are securely gripped and the spring is compressed from opposite sides. The spring has a very high compression force, so use only a very reliable tool. Never tie the spring with wire.
3. Secure the shock absorber rod against turning with a wrench and, using the second spanner wrench, unscrew the central shock absorber rod mounting nut. Sequentially remove the upper support, buffer, upper spring seat, spring, protective cover, rubber spacer and lower spring seat from the shock absorber rod.
4. The suspension strut is assembled in the reverse order of disassembly, taking into account the following points.
5. Install the spring so that the extreme coils of the spring are correctly located on the spring supports and directed towards the center of the car (see fig. The correct location of the lower coil of the spring in the spring seat).
6. Install the upper suspension strut support so that the axis passing through the centering pins is parallel to the axis of the lower shock absorber mounting (see fig. An arrangement of the top support of an amortization rack). Centering pins (1) must be located on the outside of the vehicle.
