Supporting places for a jack on cars Sedan and Station Wagon
Installing a car jack
Warning: If work is to be carried out under the vehicle, stands must be used for securing. Supporting the car with just one jack is not enough.
Warning: Do not start the engine of a raised vehicle - it is dangerous.
To raise the vehicle it is necessary to use a jack installed under the support points of the vehicle body, which are located approximately 17 cm from the corresponding wheel arch, see fig. Supporting places for a jack on cars Sedan and Station wagon and fig. Installing a car jack.
Warning: If the jack is not placed under the body support, the vehicle body may be damaged. In addition, there is a risk of injury.
Place a jack under the car.
The jack leg must tightly cover the vertical edge of the side member so that when the car is raised, the jack cannot slip.
At the same time, the position of the jack should be leveled and the leg of the jack should be raised until it fits snugly against the vertical rib.
Warning: When jacking up on soft ground, the vehicle may fall off the jack. Therefore, it is necessary to put the jack on solid ground. If necessary, a stable and relatively large support should be used.
A lift must be used to lift the vehicle.
To avoid damage to the bottom of the vehicle, be sure to use appropriate rubberized pads.
Warning: In no case should the car be lifted under the oil pan of the crankcase, under the gearbox, under the rear or front axles, otherwise serious damage to components and assemblies may occur.
Before entering the lift, make sure that there is sufficient distance between the low points of the vehicle and the lift elements.
Mounting location of the lift arm at the front of the vehicle
At the front of the vehicle, install the lift arm under the underbody reinforcement.
Mounting location of the lift arm at the rear of the vehicle
At the rear of the car, install the lift leg under the vertical reinforcements of the side members, in the area of the mark for installing the jack (1).
The vehicle must not be lifted from the front under the vertical reinforcing ribs of the side members.
