Measuring the wear of toothed belts on diesel engines

1. Release clips and remove a casing of a gear belt.

2. Using a vernier caliper, measure the width of the toothed belt.

If the width of the toothed belt is more than 22 mm, then this indicates the approaching wear of the belt and the need to replace it.
