General maintenance information

This section is intended to ensure proper maintenance of your vehicle, to help keep your vehicle in good condition and to prolong its life. If maintenance has not been carried out regularly, poor engine performance may result (incomplete power delivery, strange engine behavior, etc.). In such a case, follow the steps below.

Primary actions:

• clean, inspect and test the battery;
• check all fluids associated with the engine;
• replace spark plugs (gasoline engines);
• check the condition and tension of the auxiliary drive belt;
• check the condition of the air filter and replace if necessary;
• check the condition of all hoses (branch pipes) and their tightness;
• check the condition of the cover and rotor of the ignition distributor and high-voltage wires (gasoline engines).

If these steps are not effective, then follow these steps.

Secondary actions:

• check the charging system;
• check the ignition system;
• check the preheating system;
• check the fuel system;
• replace the cover and the ignition distributor rotor;
• replace high voltage wires.
