To relieve the driver of the need to press the accelerator pedal to maintain the desired speed, cruise control provides a constant set speed above about 30 km/h, if only the engine can provide it.
Warning: Cruise control should not be engaged in heavy traffic or in adverse road conditions (road icing, poor road holding, gravel).
Cruise control is operated by sliding switch A and push button B, located on the turn signal and headlight stalk.
Inclusion
The cruise control is activated by moving switch A to position "EIN".
Installation (memorization) desired driving speed
When the desired speed has been reached, it is enough to briefly press the button B (FIX). Now you can take your foot off the accelerator pedal. The driving speed can be increased in the usual way with the accelerator pedal. When the pedal is released, the cruise control will reduce the speed to the previously set speed. This, however, does not take effect when the set speed has been exceeded by more than 10 km/h for more than 5 minutes. In this case, the desired driving speed must be set again.
Warning: The previously set driving speed should only be returned to when this speed is not too high for the immediate driving conditions.
Changing the set travel speed
Set speed reduction
The set speed can be reduced by pressing key B.
Each time you lightly press the B key, the speed decreases in steps. If you hold down the B key, the speed is reduced by automatically moving the accelerator rod. When the key is released, the achieved speed is memorized.
If the button is released at speeds below 30 km/h, the drive is cleared. The desired speed must now be set again with key B after the vehicle has accelerated to a speed above 30 km/h.
Set speed increase
The set speed can be increased without depressing the accelerator pedal by moving switch A to the AUFN position.
Each time you lightly press the slide switch to the left, the speed increases in steps. If the switch is moved to the left and held in this position, the speed is increased by automatically moving the accelerator link. When the switch is released, the achieved speed is memorized.
Momentary deactivation of cruise control
Vehicles with manual transmission
Briefly deactivate cruise control by depressing the brake or clutch pedal, or by moving switch A to the AUS position (without fixing it).
The value of the set speed entered by this moment in memory is saved.
To return to the previously set speed, after releasing the clutch or brake pedal, move switch A all the way to the left.
Warning: You should only return to the previously set driving speed when this speed is not too high for the immediate driving conditions.
Vehicles with automatic transmission
Briefly deactivating cruise control is done by depressing the brake or clutch pedals, or by moving switch A to the AUS position (without fixing it).
The value of the set speed entered by this moment in memory is saved.
To return to the previously set speed, after releasing the clutch or brake pedal, move switch A all the way to the left.
Warning: Only return to the previously selected driving speed when this speed is not too high for the immediate driving conditions.
In addition, cruise control is temporarily disabled even when the selector is moved to position N or 1 (4 speed gearbox), as well as in position 2 (5 speed gearbox).
The value of the set speed entered by this moment in memory is erased from memory.
Storing the selected speed
If, however, no speed was stored during a short shutdown or the set speed was erased, you can set a new desired speed as follows: move switch A all the way to the left and hold it in this position until the desired speed is reached or quickly press the B key. The speed at the moment the key is pressed will be stored in memory.
Turn off cruise control
Vehicles with manual transmission
The final deactivation of cruise control is carried out by shifting switch A all the way to the right (fixation in position AUS) or, when the vehicle is stationary, by switching off the ignition.
Vehicles with automatic transmission
The final deactivation of the cruise control is carried out by moving the selector:
- in position P, N or R;
- to position 1 (4 speed gearbox);
- to position 2 (5 speed gearbox) or
- when the vehicle is stationary by turning off the ignition.
