- do not open the cap of the coolant expansion tank; the cooling system is under pressure.
Warning: Avoid spilling any liquids on a hot engine. These liquids may ignite.
Warning: Avoid short circuiting electrical circuits - especially on the battery.
Warning: If it is necessary to carry out inspection work on a running engine, there is an additional danger from rotating parts such as V-belt pulleys, alternator pulley, cooling fan, etc. - and from high voltage in the ignition system.
Warning: If work is required on the fuel system or on the electrical system:
- always disconnect the battery from the on-board network;
- do not smoke near the engine;
- never work near an open flame;
- Always keep a ready-to-use fire extinguisher handy.
Warning: When topping up liquids, in no case should they be mixed up, otherwise serious disturbances in the operation of units and systems cannot be avoided.
In order to timely detect sealing defects, it is necessary to regularly inspect the surface of the place where the car is standing. If stains of oil or other liquid operating material are found, the vehicle should be sent to a Volkswagen service facility for troubleshooting and repair.
