Seat belts

Properly worn seat belts keep the driver and passengers in a seated position. Belts significantly reduce the energy of movement, which is extinguished in a collision.

This prevents uncontrolled ejection of the driver and passengers from their seats, which may result in serious injury.

The energy of movement of the driver and passengers with properly worn seat belts is largely transferred through the seat belts to the car body. And the full energy of movement is extinguished in a frontal impact by the car frame due to the special energy-absorbing structure of the front of the car and other constructive passive safety measures, such as airbags. In this way, the forces that can throw the driver and passengers from their seats are significantly reduced, thereby reducing the risk of serious injury.



By adjusting the height of the anchor points for the front seat belts, the shoulder belt can be optimally positioned.

To make this adjustment, squeeze the keys and move the belt clip up or down so that the shoulder branch passes through the middle of the shoulder, and in no case through the throat.


After adjustment, pull on the belt to make sure that the belt clip is secure.

For a better seat belt position, the seat height can also be adjusted accordingly on the front seats.

Belt tensioners

In addition to the airbags, the safety of the driver and front passenger when seat belts are fastened can be improved by installing tensioners in the automatic winders of the front three-point seat belts.

The safety of seat belt occupants in the outboard rear seats is also enhanced by the installation of tensioners in the automatic three-point belt retractors.

The seat belt must not pass over the folded back of the seat, as this will cause the rear pretensioners to deploy in the event of a collision.

This system is activated in the event of severe frontal impacts through special sensors. A squib is ignited in the rewinder for each seat belt worn. At the same time, the seat belts are tightened.

In light frontal collisions, side impacts and impacts to the rear of the vehicle, rollovers, as well as other types of accidents, when there are no significant forces directed in the direction of travel, the tensioners are not activated.

When the tensioner is activated, smoke is emitted. This in no way indicates the occurrence of a fire in the car.
