Removing
1. Turn the crankshaft of the engine to such a position that the piston of the first cylinder will be at TDC on the compression stroke.
2. Remove the cover of the ignition distributor, for which first release the fixing bracket with a screwdriver.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the Hall sensor.
4. Unscrew the mounting bolt at the base of the ignition distributor and remove the ignition distributor.
Warning: With the distributor removed, do not rotate the engine crankshaft.
Installation
1. Before installing the ignition distributor, check that the engine crankshaft is set to a position in which the piston of the first cylinder is at TDC on the compression stroke. In this case, the alignment marks on the pulleys of the crankshaft and camshaft must be aligned with the pointers.
2. Check up a condition and correctness of installation of a sealing ring of the distributor of ignition. Replace sealing ring if necessary.
3. If the engine crankshaft was rotated with the ignition distributor removed, then turn it further to a position where the axis of the ignition distributor flange does not line up with the threaded hole.
4. Rotate the ignition distributor rotor so that the center of the rotor electrode aligns with the groove on the ignition distributor housing. From this position turn the rotor slightly clockwise and install the ignition distributor. When installing the ignition distributor, the distributor rotor must turn to its original position and the central part of the rotor electrode must align with the groove on the ignition distributor housing. Fix the ignition distributor with a bolt, tightening it with a torque of 25 Nm.
5. Check the condition of the ignition distributor cap for contact corrosion, black tracks between the contacts, and the integrity and smoothness of the movement of the carbon contact in the center of the cover. In the presence of defects replace a cover of the distributor of ignition.
6. Also check the condition and fastening of the metal contact of the distributor rotor. If the contact is burnt or loose, replace the distributor rotor. If present, remove carbon deposits and traces of corrosion from the contact using a fine file.
7. Establish a cover of the distributor of ignition and fix it with a fixing bracket.
8. If high-voltage wires were removed from the ignition distributor cover, connect them to the cover in the engine cylinder sequence 1-3-4-2. The electrode for connecting the high-voltage wire of the first cylinder is located near the TDC mark on the ignition distributor housing. Further connection of wires is made clockwise.
9. Connect the electrical connector to the Hall sensor.
10. After replacing the ignition distributor, contact a specialized workshop to recall the recorded faults from the memory of the engine control unit and erase them.
