Automatic transmission control cable
- 1 - ball mount of the cable,
- 2 - gear selection lever,
- 3 - bolt, 25 Nm,
- 4 - cable fastening nut, 10 Nm
Examination
1. Raise the car and secure it on stands or place it over a viewing hole.
2. Set the selector lever to position P, see fig. Automatic transmission control cable.
3. At the transmission, pull up and remove the transmission control cable ball from the gear selection lever.
4. Move the selector lever from position P to position 1. At the same time, the selector lever should move easily and smoothly. Otherwise, replace the transmission control cable.
5. Move the selector lever to position P. In this case, the gear selection lever on the gearbox must be in the lowest position. Check the alignment of the ball end of the transmission control cable with the gear selector on the transmission. If there is no alignment, the transmission control cable needs to be adjusted.
Adjustment
1. Move the selector lever to position P.
2. Move the gear selector on the gearbox to its lowest position. In this case, the parking ratchet must be latched.
3. Loosen the bolt securing the transmission control cable support. By moving the support, set it to a position where the tip of the cable is aligned with the gear selector on the gearbox. In this position, tighten the bolt (3), fixing the gearbox supports with a torque of 25 Nm, see fig. Automatic transmission control cable).
4. Carry out a test drive and check the operation of the selector lever. The engine can only be started in positions P and N of the selector lever.
5. Turn on the ignition. With the vehicle stationary, the selector lever can only be moved from positions P and N while pressing the accelerator pedal.
