Remove the bleeder plug to bleed one of the front brake calipers. Connect a pressure gauge and bleed.
Pressurize the brake pedals until the pressure gauge shows 50 bar overpressure. During the 45-hour test, the pressure drop must not exceed 4 bar. If the pressure drop is greater, replace the brake master cylinder.
Note: Brake fluid is poisonous. It is not allowed to get brake fluid on the paintwork, as this will damage it.
Note: Brake fluid is hygroscopic - it attracts moisture from the surrounding air. Brake fluid may only be stored in closed containers.
Note: If drops of brake fluid are found, flush with plenty of water.
Note: To bleed the hydraulic unit, a pressure of at least 2 bar must be generated.
Preliminary pumping
Connect the device for filling and bleeding the brake system or.
Pumping sequence:
- 1 - simultaneously pump the front right and left calipers
- 2 - simultaneously pump the rear left and right brake calipers
The bleeder fittings with the bleeder container hoses attached must remain open until bubble-free fluid flows out.
Then using the function «Grundeinstellung/Basic setup» bleed the hydraulic unit again using a tester.
Pumping (main)
Strictly follow the procedure for bleeding the brake system.
Connect the device for filling and pumping the brake system.
Open the bleeders in the prescribed sequence and bleed the brake calipers.
- 1 - Front left brake caliper.
- 2 - Front right brake caliper.
- 3 - Rear left brake caliper.
- 4 - Rear right brake caliper.
Use a suitable bleed hose. It must sit tightly on the bleeder valve so that no air enters the brake system.
The brake caliper bleeder with reservoir hose attached must remain open until bubble-free fluid flows out.
Additional pumping
Firmly press and do not release the brake pedal.
Note: An assistant is needed to complete this work.
Open the brake caliper bleeder.
Press the brake pedal all the way.
Close the fitting without releasing the brake pedal pressed all the way.
Release the brake pedal slowly.
This bleeding process must be repeated 5 times for each brake caliper.
Pumping sequence.
- 1 - Front left brake caliper
- 2 - Front right brake caliper
- 3 - Rear left brake caliper
- 4 - Rear right brake caliper
After pumping, a test drive should be made. At the same time, you should brake at least once so that the ABS works
Install the rear wheels.
