Removal and installation of a back lantern in a body sidewall

The rear light in the sidewall of the body can no longer be disassembled. It contains the following components:

• rear lamps;
• brake signal lamps;
• rear turn signal lamps.

Removing

Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers and turn the key to position 0 (pre-stop).

Note: The illustrations show removal and installation on the left side. Removal and installation on the right side are carried out in the same way.

Note: Put the remote control ignition key during removal and installation in the vehicle interior to prevent the doors from locking and self-activation of the functions «Coming Home/ Leaving Home (Arrival home / Departure from home)».

Unlock the service cover 1 in the direction of the arrow from the side trim 2 (pic. 7.87).




Unlock the plug 2 by pulling the locking button 3 in the direction of the arrow and remove the plug from the rear light (pic. 7.88).

Turn off fixing nuts 1 and take a back lantern downwards from a body sidewall.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order, paying attention to the following.

Tighten fixing nuts 3 to the specified torque (pic. 7.88).

Note: When plugging in connector 2, the rear light must be in the side of the body «hear» click.

The plug is installed correctly when the locking button 3 is pushed back in.
