The central locking system is self-locking. After the car is locked from the outside, the inside door lock buttons immediately work. Thus, the likelihood of unauthorized persons entering the cabin is reduced.
Unlocking
To unlock the vehicle, turn the key in the driver's door lock to the unlock position.
All door lock buttons rise.
Self-locking, security monitoring of the interior of the passenger compartment and the security alarm system are immediately turned off, which is accompanied by a short flash of all direction indicators.
When the car is unlocked, the interior lights, the switches of which are in the control position from the door contacts, light up for about 20 seconds.
Holding the key in the unlock position will open all windows on vehicles with power windows.
Note: If the central locking system fails, only the driver's door and the trunk lid can be unlocked with the normal key. However, with such a failure, the self-locking and burglar alarm system cannot be activated.
Locking
To lock the vehicle, turn the key in the driver's door lock once to the lock position. All doors and trunk lid will be locked. When the car is locked, the interior lights, the switches of which are in the control position from the door contacts, turn off.
The functional readiness of self-locking is indicated by the flashing of the control lamp located near the driver's door lock button.
After 28 days have elapsed from the moment the security alarm system was turned on, the control lamp goes out. This prevents the battery from discharging during long periods of parking. If necessary, the alarm system must be reactivated.
Attention: If the central locking button in the armrest of the driver's door is in the active position, the locks of all other doors and the trunk lid are automatically blocked.
If you turn the key in the lock twice in a row within one second, then all doors and the trunk lid will be locked. Self-locking and burglar alarm system, however, will not be enabled.
With self-locking switched off, the vehicle can be unlocked from the inside. To do this, pull the inner handle of the lock of the corresponding door until the lock button is raised. If you pull the lock handle again, the door will open.
The doors can also be locked by pushing in the door lock buttons. Self-locking, however, is not activated.
When the driver's door is open, it cannot be locked with the lock button. This prevents keys from being left inside a locked vehicle.
Automatic closing of windows and sunroof
On vehicles equipped with power windows or a power sliding roof panel, left open door windows or sunroof can be automatically closed. To do this, hold the key in the locking position of the lock until all the door windows and the sunroof are completely closed.
Unlocking only one door
The central locking also provides the ability to unlock only one driver's door, while all other doors remain locked.
