Replacement of valve stem seals

Withdrawal (with cylinder head installed)

Remove the EGR valve.

Remove the camshaft housing.

Remove the roller arms and place them on a clean surface. Roller levers do not change places.

Unscrew the spark plugs with a spark plug wrench.

Bring the piston of the respective cylinder to «bottom dead center».



Screw clamp for valve spring with mandrel (pic. 2.53).

Now screw the pressure hose into the spark plug socket.

Supply compressed air at a pressure of at least 6 bar through the pressure hose and remove the valve springs.

Remove the valve stem seals using the 3364 special tool.

Installation

Put on the appropriate valve stem the plastic cover included in the repair kit. This prevents damage to new valve stem seals.

Install a new valve stem seal into the valve stem seal press tool.



Lubricate the sealing lip of the valve stem seal and carefully place it on the valve guide (pic. 2.54).

Install the camshaft housing.

Adjust the valve timing.

Further installation is carried out in the reverse order. In doing so, the following must be taken into account.

Install the timing cover.

Install fuel lines.

Install the EGR valve
