Conditions
The engine oil level should be correct.
Engine oil temperature must be at least 80°C (the radiator fan should complete one cycle).
Work order
Remove the oil pressure switch and screw it into the pressure gauge.
Screw the pressure tester into the oil filter holder in place of the gauge.
Attach the brown wire of the oil pressure gauge to the ground (–).
Connect the voltage indicator with auxiliary wires from the set of auxiliary measuring instruments to the positive of the battery (+) and oil pressure switch. The tester LED should not light up.
If the LED lights up, replace the oil pressure sensor.
If the LED does not light up
start the engine and increase the speed. At an overpressure of 1.2–1.6 bar, the LED should light up, otherwise replace the oil pressure sensor.
Increase engine speed. At 2000 min–1 and an oil temperature of 80°C, the oil pressure must be between 2.7 and 4.5 bar.
At high speeds, the oil pressure should not exceed 7.0 bar.
If the nominal value is not reached
Check the strainer in the oil pickup tube for dirt.
Note: Mechanical failures and damage, such as bearing failure, can cause oil pressure to be too low.
If the problem is not found, replace the oil pump.
If the nominal value is exceeded, check the oil channels.
If necessary, replace the oil filter holder with overpressure valve.
