the selector lever cable was disconnected from the gearbox.
Either the engine and (or) gearbox has been removed/installed.
If the cable itself or the gearshift mechanism was removed / installed, or the position of the engine / gearbox was changed, for example, to eliminate stresses or distortion.
Adjustment
Set the selector lever to position «R».
Unscrew bolt 2 of cable 1.

Slightly shake the handle of the selector lever back and forth, in no case removing the lever itself from the position «P» (pic. 3.84).
In this case, the cable takes the optimal position in its shell.
Set the shift lever/shaft 3 on the gearbox to position «R» (push the lever back).
Note: To check if the gearbox is actually in the «P» (transmission blocked), you need to raise the car. Both front wheels must not turn in the same direction.
Tighten screw 2 to 15 Nm.
Emergency release of the selector lever
Do not remove the lever handle.
Disconnect the latches of the selector lever cover and, turning the cover, lift its frame to the handle.
Depress the service brake pedal or apply the parking brake.

Press the yellow plastic part on the right side to push it to the left (pic. 3.85).
After that, the lever can be removed from the position «R».
