Removal and installation of the instrument panel

The instrument panel is equipped with a self-diagnosis system. Before removing it, it is necessary to read the fault codes using the VAG 1551 fault code reader or the VAG 1552 tester. 4 fault codes can be recorded at the same time. Sporadic faults are deleted after 50 «driving cycles». Under «driving cycle» means turning on the ignition for at least 5 minutes and driving at a speed above 30 km/h.

Removing

1. Unscrew the screw 1 and unhook the visor 2 of the instrument panel in the direction of the arrow (pic. 12.29).



2. Remove the lower part 1 of the instrument panel visor by unscrewing the three screws (arrows) (pic. 12.30).



3. Remove two screws (arrows) instrument panel mounting (pic. 12.31).



4. Disconnect the wiring connector from the instrument panel.

5. Remove the instrument panel.

Installation

6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
