Accelerator pedal position sensor adjustment

1. Connect the VAG 1551 fault code reader (V.A.G 1552) and dial «01» «Engine electronics» The engine must be running at idle. The display should show the following information:


2. Click «08» to select a function «Reading a block of measured values» and confirm by pressing the button «Q». The display should show the following information;


3. Select the desired group. Click «002» for selection «Group 2 display» and confirm by pressing the button «Q» The display should show the following information:


Check the position of the accelerator pedal in field 2. The pedal should not be depressed and the display should show 0.0%.

4. Press the pedal all the way down and observe field 2 of the display. The display should show the following information:


The percentage of pressing the accelerator pedal should increase gradually. The display should show 100%.

5. If necessary, adjust the position of the accelerator pedal 2 by turning the adjusting screw 1 so that the pedal is not pressed at idle (was free) and the display showed a value of 0.0%, and when the accelerator pedal was fully depressed, the display showed a value of 100% (pic. 7.40).
