Checking the functionality and supply voltage
1. Check fuse #40 (pic. 4.16 a). It must be in working order.

2. Remove a covering in a forward right part of a luggage compartment.
3. Remove the floor panel on the right in the luggage compartment.
4. Remove the floor cover.
Caddy Kombi, Polo Classic, Polo Estate
5. Move the rear seats forward.
6. Remove the floor cover.
7. With the floor cover removed: turn the crankshaft briefly with the starter. The fuel pump should turn on for about 1 second.
8. If the fuel pump does not turn on, turn off the ignition. Remove fuse 40 for the fuel pump.
9. Connect the remote control device VAG 1348/3А with additional wire VAG 1348/3-2 to terminal 40b of the two-pin fuel pump wiring connector and «+» batteries (pic. 4.16 b).
10. Turn on the VAG 1348/3A remote control device.
11. Fuel pump is running: check the activation of the fuel pump relay (see wiring diagram).
12. Fuel pump does not work: Disconnect 4-pin wiring connector 1 from flange 2 of the fuel tank (pic. 4.16 in).
13. Connect the VAG 1527 diode tester using the VAG 1594 auxiliary wire to the outer pins of the wiring connector (pic. 4.16 g).
14. Turn on the device for remote control. The light bulb should light up. If the light does not come on, check the electrical circuit for an open wire.
15. Light bulb lit up (voltage is normal). Unscrew the flange fastening nut using the key 3217. Check the electrical wires between the flange and the fuel pump.
16. If no open circuit is found, replace the fuel pump.
