Removal and installation of an overlay of the console of radio / knot of management of system of heating

Removing

Remove the radio and glove box or remove the navigation unit accordingly.



Unscrew bolts -1/2- and, if necessary, loosen bottom bolts as well.

Pull the cover of the radio/heating control console back, disconnect the plug connectors of the switches and remove the cover.

Installation

Installation is carried out in reverse order.

Note: for greater clarity, the instrument panel in the figure is shown with the steering wheel removed.

Insert the VW pullers -A- into the slots on the radio and remove the radio from the mounting niche, see chapter «Removal and installation of radio».

Remove glove box -1-. 2 - overlay of the radio console / heating system control unit.

Note: On vehicles with a navigation system, remove the navigation unit instead of the radio and glove box.

Using a screwdriver, carefully pry off trim -1- on heating control panel. The rotary switches do not need to be removed for this.

Note: Place a spacer under the screwdriver to avoid damage.

Press locking tabs -3- and remove beverage container holder -1- from dashboard.

Unclip trim -2- on left.



Release locking plates -arrows- and pull glove box out of dash panel upwards.




Unscrew 2 screws -arrows- in glove box mounting recess.



Remove 6 screws -arrows-.



Unscrew 2 screws -arrows- and pull cover for radio/heating control console slightly back.

Disconnect the plug-in connectors of the switches and remove the trim of the console of the radio / heating control unit together with the blower from the dashboard and remove.

Installation

Installation is carried out in reverse order.
