There are 2 types of tensioners: an electric tensioner for vehicles with a side airbag and a mechanical tensioner for vehicles without a side airbag.

9 - IBIZA front seat belt buckle, 3-door model
The body structure of the IBIZA car is similar. However, the seat belt tensioner is attached to the B-pillar from above with a nut -4-.
Note: on the 5-door model, the seat belt is attached at the bottom not to the guide bracket -8-, but to the body with a bolt through the eyelet.
Removing
Electric seat belt tensioner: Disconnect earth wire from battery (-).
Warning: Follow the instructions in chapter «Removing and installing the battery».
Remove sill trim, see relevant chapter above.
3-door model: remove the rear side trim, see relevant chapter above.
Remove top B-pillar trim see relevant chapter above.
5-door model: remove B-pillar lower trim, see relevant chapter above.
3-door model: remove the guide clip -8- of the front seat belt and remove the seat belt from it, see relevant chapter below.
5-door model: remove the front seat belt eyelet, see relevant chapter below.
Pull the seat belt out through the belt height adjustment hole in the B-pillar upper trim.
Release screws -2- and remove guide eye -3-.
Unbolt belt guide -6- to B-pillar.
Remove bolts -4- and -7- and remove seat belt together with tensioner from B-pillar.
Installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order. Tighten bolts -7- and -2- to 40 Nm and bolt -4- to 8 Nm.
Check the operation of the seat belt height adjustment mechanism.
Only IBIZA
The removal and installation of the seat belt on an IBIZA car is, in principle, carried out in the same way as on a POLO.
