Removing
Operate the wiper motor for a short time and switch it off using the steering column switch. In this case, the wiper motor should stop in its original position.
With the ignition off, disconnect the ground wire from the battery (-).
Attention: Follow the instructions given in chapter «Removing and installing the battery».
Remove wiper arms, see relevant chapter above.
Remove fairing grille.
Unfasten the engine control unit on the left at the front wall of the plenum cover from the holder -arrow- and lay to one side. If required, prior remove air filter.
Unscrew the fastening of the holder of the engine control unit to the front wall and remove the holder.
Remove the clips and wire holders from the front wall of the drainage casing.
Unscrew the attachment to the front wall of the clamps and remove the soundproofing cover from the front wall.
Unscrew all bolts -arrows- at the front wall and remove the front wall of the plenum cover.
Unscrew bolts -arrows- for wiper frame and remove together with washers.
Disconnect connector from wiper motor and remove wiper frame together with rods and wiper motor.
Use a large screwdriver to pry out the rods -1- from the crank -3-.
Loosen nut -4- and remove crank -3- from motor shaft.
Remove 3 bolts -2- and remove motor from wiper frame.
Installation
Attention: Before installing, check that the wiper motor is in its original position. To do this, briefly connect the plug connector of the electric motor and connect the ground wire to the battery. Turn on the electric motor for a short time, then turn it off using the steering column switch and thereby return the electric motor to its original position.
Screw motor to wiper frame and tighten to 5 Nm.
Push rods -1- onto ball head of crank and lock. Push the crank onto the motor shaft so that it forms a straight line together with the tie rods. In this position tighten nut -4- to 20 Nm, see figure N92-0103.
Insert the wiper frame together with the electric motor and the rods in such a way that the rubber element of the receiver is placed on the stud -arrow-.
Connect the electrical connector on the wiper motor.
Reinstall the bolts with washers and tighten the wiper frame to the body to 5 Nm.
Further installation is carried out in the reverse order.
Check that the wiper arms are installed correctly.
