Safety note
When working under the vehicle, it must be supported by secure jack stands. Supporting the car only with a side jack is not enough for this. Life threatening!
Put the car on the goats only in an unloaded state, on a flat solid ground.
Support the car with jack stands so that one leg on the side is turned outward as needed.
Lifting and gantry points
Attention: On vehicles with a plastic channel, remove the cover above the lifting point before lifting.
Depending on the equipment, the receivers for the side member are embossed -arrows-.
- POLO: distance to the front wheel arch is 16 cm, to the rear wheel arch is 21.5 cm;
- IBIZA: Distance to the front wheel arch is 17 cm, to the rear wheel arch is 21 cm.
Position the jack lever against the side member so that the rib is surrounded by the jaws -arrow- of the jack lever. Rotate the lead screw of the jack until its heel rests on the platform with its entire surface.
Raise the vehicle with a jack until the wheel is off the ground. Support the vehicle with jack stands.
Lock wheels that remain on the floor when raising the vehicle against rolling back and forth with wedges. Do not rely on the handbrake, which must be released for some work.
