IBIZA
Service intervals for SEAT IBIZA depend on the time elapsed since the last service and the mileage of the vehicle.
Some time before the service interval, the service interval indicator is activated. As a result, instead of reading the daily mileage, a wrench symbol and an indication of the upcoming maintenance appear.
In this case, the OIL message indicates the need for maintenance with the replacement of engine oil, and the INSP message indicates the need for maintenance with a parameter check.
After starting the engine, the maintenance message goes out after about 3 minutes. By pressing the setting button (longer than ½ second) you can switch the pointer to the daily mileage counter mode.
The criterion for calculating service cycles for the interval indicator is the time or, respectively, the mileage of the vehicle since the last change in the indicator readings. Other factors such as vehicle load and the like are not taken into account. When the vehicle battery is disconnected, the maintenance interval indicator data is retained.
After performing maintenance, the interval indicator is set to its original position. For each type of service performed, the interval indicator is always set to its original position separately.
POLO
If an engine oil that is not designed for long-term operation is poured into the car engine, the service interval indicator can be reset using «flexibel» (unregulated) on «fest» (regulated). Resetting the service interval indicator is done using the setting buttons located at the instrument cluster. As a result, the service interval indicator starts to work according to the same principle as that of the SEAT IBIZA car. Only the messages on the instrument cluster display are slightly different. Some time before the onset of maintenance, instead of the daily mileage readings, the message service OEL or, respectively, service OIL appears (MOT with engine oil change), or service INSP message (Maintenance with parameter check).
