Attention: In the case of a diesel engine, after changing the engine oil at the first start, make sure that the engine runs at idling speed until the low oil pressure indicator on the instrument panel goes out. Depress the accelerator pedal only after full oil pressure has been reached. Loading the engine with the low oil pressure warning light on can cause damage to the turbocharger due to insufficient lubrication of its bearings.
- Open the cap -1- of the filler hole in the cylinder head cover and pour fresh engine oil through this hole.
Attention: It is recommended, in principle, to first add ½ liter less engine oil, start and warm up the engine, and after a few minutes check the oil level with a dipstick and top up if necessary.
Excess filled oil must be sucked off again, otherwise damage to the engine seals and catalytic converter may occur.
- The oil level is OK if it is in zone -B- on the dipstick. If the oil level is in zone -C-, it is necessary to replenish the level to zone -B-. If the oil level is in zone -A-, no oil needs to be added.
Attention: If too much oil has been poured into the engine (above zone -A-), its excess must be sucked off, otherwise the engine seals and the catalytic converter may be damaged.
- After a test drive, check the oil drain plug and oil filter seal for leaks and, if necessary, carefully tighten the seals.
- Stop the warm engine, after about 3 minutes check the oil level again and, if necessary, correct the level.
- Set bottom engine compartment cover.
