1 — the top casing of a gear belt
2 - bolt, 20 Nm + 90° (¼ turn) in tightening direction
Always replace the bolt with a new one.
Loosening and tightening requires VW-T1001 B.
3 - camshaft gear
The fixing holes in the camshaft gears must match the mounting holes in the camshaft housing.
4 — a tension roller of a connecting toothed belt
5 - connecting toothed belt
Mark the direction of travel on the belt before removing.
Check toothed belt for wear, do not break.
6 - bracket
7 - bolt, 10 Nm
8 - coolant pump
If damaged or leaking, replace as a set.
9 — an arm for the pump of a cooling liquid
10 - bolt, 20 Nm
11 - bolt, 50 Nm
12 - the guide roller of the main toothed belt
13 - tension roller of the main toothed belt
14 - crankshaft gear
Position for TDC: the beveled tooth must match the mark on the oil pump housing.
15 - main toothed belt
Mark the direction of travel on the belt before removing. Check toothed belt for wear, do not break.
16 - bolt, 12 Nm
Always replace the bolt with a new one.
17 - belt pulley of the crankshaft
Mounting is only possible in one position.
18 — bolt, 90 Nm + 90° (¼ turn) in tightening direction
Always replace the bolt with a new one, lubricate before installation. The 90°turn can be done in several steps. The angle of rotation can be measured with a conventional protractor, such as the HAZET 6690.
19 - V-ribbed belt
Mark the direction of travel on the belt before removing. Check poly V-belt for wear, do not break.
20 — the bottom casing of a gear belt
21 - engine bracket
22 - bolt, 50 Nm
Always replace the bolt with a new one.
23 - bolt, 25 Nm
24 - guide roller
