Removing
Raise the car and place it on supports, remove the wheel.
Loosen the shock absorber mounting nut on the lower control arm.
To avoid damage to the shock absorber, compress the upper control arm with a suitable tool. You can also place a jack under the lower support arm and raise the arm slightly.
Loosen the upper shock absorber mounting nut and remove the shock absorber.
To release the nut, pull off the buffer and hold it with pliers for the water pump (if it is needed).
If the nut does not loosen, clamp the buffer and turn out the shock absorber piston rod as shown in the figure.
Replace worn buffer. To do this, unscrew the stem, as shown in the figure.
Installation
Check shock absorber before installation (see section "Removing, installing and checking shock absorbers and coil springs").
Install shock absorber and slide from below onto the stem. Install spacer. Tighten the nut.
Attention! When replacing the shock absorber, install a new rubber cushion, placing it with the side up.
Install the upper rubber cushion with a side from below, install the cushion plate and tighten the shock absorber fastening nut to a torque of 20 Nm (2.0 kgcm).
Remove the spring compressor or jack, install the wheel, lower the vehicle and tighten the wheel bolts to 130 Nm (13.0 kgcm).
